Melinna, President, CEO, and Founder of ABC Coding Solutions (formerly Alternative Link), has worked in the health insurance industry since the 1980s. She is one of the nation’s leading experts on contracting, billing, and practice management for nursing and other forms of integrative healthcare. Melinna designed ABC codes to fill gaps in national code sets used for managing healthcare reimbursement and outcomes analysis.

Before launching Alternative Link in 1996, Melinna patented a method and system for determining the cost and legality of coded treatments delivered by over a dozen licensed practitioner types. Today, this technology provides millions of references to scope of practice laws that help the healthcare industry maximize access to non-physician caregivers while minimizing legal issues associated with fraudulent billing.

Prior to founding the Company, Melinna designed health plan benefits for large employers who self-funded a portion of their employees’ health care. She was also involved in monitoring outcomes, managed care contracting and third party administration.
